What CSEEC offers full-time teachers.
Salary
Starting wages for a full-time teacher are between 260,000 and 338,000 RMB, depending on training, qualifications and experience. Salary is paid in ten equal monthly instalments into your Chinese bank account, in RMB, no later than the first banking day of the following month.
Bonuses
A completion bonus is paid on the first business day of July. Staff who extend their contract are also offered a re-signing bonus.
Housing
CSEEC provides a one-bedroom apartment with basic furnishings, including a double bed, washing machine, sofa, desk, chair, fridge, stove or hot plate, and microwave.
Flights
One economy return ticket between your home city and your work city in China for each school year of employment.
Medical and leave
A basic health and accident insurance plan is provided; some staff choose to buy private insurance as well. Up to seven paid leave days for medical or bereavement reasons can be granted each school year.
Visa and work permit
CSEEC pays all fees for the visa, work permit and residence permit.
Vacation
Staff get all Chinese holidays during the school year, about four weeks of vacation plus single-day holidays. Because major holidays follow the lunar calendar, dates vary each year. Staff occasionally work on weekends, but the total days off over the year match those in BC school districts.
